Project Details
The Sticker Shock Project is designed to reach adults who might purchase alcohol legally and provide it to minors. Sticker warnings about the penalties for furnishing alcohol to minors are placed on all multi-packs of beer, alco-pops, and other alcohol products that might appeal to underage drinkers. The impact of the stickers is increased by media coverage of the event and by the signs that are displayed by participating retailers.
Project Description
The real impact of the Sticker Shock project is that once the alcohol is stickered, of age people purchasing alcohol will think twice about providing alcohol to minors. This project also raises awareness of constructing laws on a larger scale, particularly through media coverage of your activities.
Instead of just raising awareness of selling alcohol to underage persons, it encourages youth to take the lead whenever possible.
Why Participate in Project Sticker Shock

• Builds collaboration between youth, retailers, concerned parents, community members, law enforcement, and prevention professionals.
• Strengthens the deterrent effect of law against providing alcohol to minors.
• Generates positive media coverage, including newspaper articles/editorials, and new stories.
