Talking with a child about the dangers of substance use and showing disapproval of such behavior are key to shaping children’s attitudes and behaviors. 90% of Bulloch County Middle School youth report that their parents would think it’s Wrong or Very Wrong for them to drink alcohol. By 12th grade, this percentage goes down to 76%. Parents need to continue through their child’s high school years with a consistent message that drinking alcohol is not okay.
